How to Copy a Video Link on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X
Every video downloader starts with a link, and each app hides Copy link in a slightly different place. This guide shows where to find it on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X.
Updated
Every downloader asks for the same thing first: the link to the video. Each app puts Copy link in a slightly different spot, and copying the wrong link (a profile, or a post without the video) is the most common reason a download fails. Here is where to find it in each app.
On a Reel or video post, tap the share icon. It looks like a paper plane. The share sheet opens with your contacts at the top and a row of options at the bottom. Swipe that row if needed and tap Copy link.
For a Story, tap the three dots in the corner or the share icon, then Copy link. On a computer, open the post on instagram.com and copy the address bar. Reel links contain /reel/ and posts contain /p/.
Downloaders: Instagram Reels, Stories and photos.
TikTok
Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the video, then Copy link in the bottom row. The link usually starts with vm.tiktok.com or tiktok.com.
On a computer, open the video on tiktok.com so it plays on its own page. The address bar shows tiktok.com/@username/video/ and a number. Copy that, or click Share and choose Copy link.
Downloader: TikTok video downloader.
Tap Share under the video, or the share arrow on a Reel, and choose Copy link. In a browser, click the video so it opens on its own page and copy the address.
Make sure you're copying the video. A link to a profile, a page or a photo post won't return a video.
Downloader: Facebook video downloader.
X (Twitter)
Tap the share icon under the post (an arrow pointing up) and choose Copy link. On x.com, click the post's timestamp so it opens on its own page, then copy the address bar. Both x.com and twitter.com links work.
If the video is in a quoted post or a reply, open that post first and copy its link.
Downloader: Twitter video downloader.
Paste and download
ICANDL accepts public links from all four apps. Paste the link, tap Download and pick a format: "Download Video + Audio" for the video, "Download Audio Only" for an MP3 or "Download Video Only" for a silent copy. Photo posts show "Download Original Photo".
Links from private accounts, friends-only posts and private groups won't work, because ICANDL reads public posts only.
Next step: where your downloaded videos go on iPhone and Android.
