How to Make a Ringtone From a Video
Turn a part of a video's sound into a phone ringtone in four steps
Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook Downloaders
Paste a public post link from any of these four platforms and the same steps apply.
A ringtone from the video you already have
The sound you want as a ringtone is often in a Reel, a TikTok or a clip someone shared. This page takes the video link, plays its sound and lets you cut out the seconds you want. There is no app to install and no separate audio editor.
How to mark the part
- Play the sound and tap "Start here" when your part begins.
- Tap "End here" when it should stop.
- Type exact seconds into the Start and End boxes if you prefer. Decimals work.
- "Play part" plays only the selection so you can check it.
The line under the controls shows the ringtone's length and warns you if it's too short or too long.
MP3 or M4R
- MP3 (Android) works on Android phones and almost everything else. Ringtones can be up to 60 seconds.
- M4R (iPhone) is Apple's ringtone format. iPhone accepts ringtones up to 40 seconds.
On Android, set the MP3 in Settings, Sound, Phone ringtone. On iPhone, add the M4R with a computer through Finder or iTunes, or build the ringtone from the MP3 in GarageBand. The ringtone guide has every step.
Other ways to get the sound
The full soundtrack is available as MP3 too, with "Download Audio Only (MP3)" on the same result. For more formats see the Instagram audio downloader and MP3 or WAV downloads.

Public videos only
The ringtone maker reads public videos only and doesn't store the files it makes. Using a song as your own ringtone is personal use; sharing the file is up to the rights holder.
