    How to use MP3 Cutter

    1. Choose an MP3 recording up to 15 minutes.
    2. Set a start time and an end time within the recording.
    3. Cut the selected range and download the clip.

Select the part of the recording you need

Cutting can remove a long introduction, silence at the end or material outside a chosen excerpt. Set the start before the end and keep both times within the recording. Listen to the exported boundaries before using the clip in another project.

    Cutting may require re-encoding

Precise MP3 boundaries may require the selected range to be decoded and encoded again. This can alter encoding quality. Keep the original when you need to make another cut, and consider an audio fade if the new start or ending sounds abrupt.

    Frequently asked questions

Does cutting overwrite the original MP3?

No. The tool offers the selected range as a new download. Keep the original if you want to choose a different section later.

Can I remove a section from the middle?

This cutter exports one continuous range between a start and an end time. To build a recording from separate parts, cut the parts and use the audio joiner.

    Will the cut be lossless?

A precise cut may re-encode the audio. Do not assume that an MP3 cut is bit-for-bit lossless.

Can I cut a file longer than 15 minutes?

The selected source itself must be 15 minutes or shorter. Processing happens locally and also depends on browser resources.
