How to use Audio Fade In and Out

    1. Choose an audio file up to 15 minutes long.
    2. Set the fade in and fade out durations.
    3. Apply the fades and download the finished audio.

Choose fades that fit the recording

A short fade can soften an abrupt start or stop. Longer fades can suit music beds and transitions. Keep the combined fade lengths within the clip duration so that the entire recording is not reduced unintentionally.

    Processing an audio fade locally

The audio is processed on your device. The processing engine may need an initial download, and support depends on the input codec and available browser memory. Keep the original file if you want to compare the result or change the fade later.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I use only a fade out?

Yes. Set the fade in duration to zero and choose the length of the fade out. You can also use a fade in without a fade out.

Does a fade remove background noise?

A fade lowers the volume near the beginning or ending. It does not separate background noise from speech or music throughout a recording.

What is the maximum audio duration?

Each selected file must be 15 minutes or shorter. Codec support, file size and device memory can still prevent a shorter file from being processed.

    Will my original file change?

The tool creates a separate download. Your original file remains unchanged, and the selected audio is not uploaded for processing.
