Audio Converter

Convert an audio recording into a format suited to your player or editing workflow. Select a supported file up to 15 minutes long, choose the output settings and download the result.

Choose a file

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, MP4, WEBM. Maximum 15 minutes per file. 100 MiB on desktop, 50 MiB on touch devices.

    Settings

MP3 and M4A use bitrate settings. WAV uses 16-bit PCM, OGG uses quality-based encoding, and FLAC uses lossless compression. Conversion cannot restore lost audio detail.

    How to use Audio Converter

    1. Choose a supported audio or video file up to 15 minutes.
    2. Select the output audio format and available settings.
    3. Convert the file in your browser and download the result.

Choose an output for its intended use

MP3 is useful when file size and playback compatibility matter. PCM WAV can suit editing workflows but usually needs more storage. Repeatedly encoding an already compressed recording can introduce further loss, so work from the best source available.

A file extension does not identify every codec

Containers such as M4A, OGG, MP4 and WebM can hold different codecs. A permitted extension therefore does not guarantee that the browser engine can read the file. Conversion runs locally and also depends on available device memory.

    Frequently asked questions

Which input formats can I select?

You can select MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, MP4 and WebM. The codec inside the file must also be supported by the processing engine.

Can conversion restore sound lost in an MP3?

No. Changing the container, increasing the bitrate or exporting WAV cannot restore detail removed by earlier lossy compression.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

The conversion runs in your browser. The engine assets may download over the internet, while the selected media stays on your device.

How long can the source recording be?

The maximum accepted duration is 15 minutes per file. Large files or unsupported codecs can fail on devices with limited memory even within that limit.
