Choose a file

MP4. Maximum 15 minutes per file. 100 MiB on desktop, 50 MiB on touch devices.

    Settings

MP3 and M4A use bitrate settings. WAV uses 16-bit PCM, OGG uses quality-based encoding, and FLAC uses lossless compression. Conversion cannot restore lost audio detail.

How to use MP4 to MP3 Converter

    1. Choose an MP4 video up to 15 minutes long.
    2. Select the MP3 bitrate available in the tool.
    3. Extract the audio and download the MP3 file.

Extract the sound from a video file

An MP3 output contains audio only. This can be useful for listening to a talk or working with a recording separately from its picture. The MP4 must contain a readable audio track; a silent video cannot produce a meaningful audio recording.

    Bitrate affects the MP3 output

A lower bitrate can reduce the size of the audio output, with a possible loss of detail. A higher setting cannot improve the audio beyond the source track. MP4 audio codec support and device memory determine whether a selected video can be processed.

    Frequently asked questions

Does MP4 to MP3 keep the video?

No. The downloaded MP3 contains the extracted audio. Keep the source MP4 if you also need the video.

Why does my MP4 produce no audio?

The video may have no audio track, or its audio codec may be unsupported. Check that the original has audible sound and try a supported source.

Can I paste a video website link?

This tool accepts a local MP4 file. It does not download videos from website links.

Can I extract a video longer than 15 minutes?

The source video must be 15 minutes or shorter. Browser processing may also be limited by file size, memory and the codec in the MP4.
