You save a Reel, open it in your gallery and get silence. This is one of the most common complaints about Instagram downloads, and the cause is usually the tool, not your phone. Below are the reasons it happens, in the order you should check them.
Cause 1: the downloader saved only the video stream
Instagram often delivers a video as two parts: one stream with the picture and another with the sound. The Instagram app plays them together, so you never notice. A downloader that grabs only the first stream gives you a file with no audio track at all.

Cause 2: you picked the muted option
ICANDL shows these buttons for every Instagram video:

Cause 3: the post has no sound on Instagram either
Play the Reel inside Instagram with the volume up. If it is silent there, or Instagram shows a notice that the audio is unavailable, the sound was removed, often over music rights. No downloader can restore audio that Instagram no longer serves.
Cause 4: the phone or player is muted
Two quick checks before you download again. Make sure the media volume is up, not only the ringer volume, since phones control them separately. Then try a different player app. Some gallery previews start muted and need a tap on the speaker icon.
