How to Download a TikTok Sound as MP3

TikTok lets you favorite a sound but never gives you the file. Paste the video link into ICANDL and choose "Download Audio Only" to get the sound as an MP3.

Tap the sound name at the bottom of a TikTok and the app opens its sound page. From there you can add the sound to your favorites or use it in a video of your own. Neither option puts a file on your phone. To listen to the sound outside TikTok, cut it into a ringtone or drop it into an editor, you need an MP3. ICANDL makes one from the video link.

Download the sound

  1. On the TikTok video, tap Share and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
  2. Open the TikTok downloader.
  3. Paste the link and tap Download.
  4. Tap "Download Audio Only".

The browser saves an MP3. On Android it goes to Downloads, and music players and file managers find it there. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app. On a computer it lands in your download folder.

What the MP3 contains

The file is the video's soundtrack. It has the same length as the TikTok and includes everything you hear in it: the music, the creator's voice, effects and background noise. If the creator talked over a song, the talking is in the MP3 as well.

To get a clean version of a song, look up the title on the sound page and find the track on a music service. The MP3 from ICANDL is the right choice when the sound only exists on TikTok, such as a voiceover, a remix someone made, or a sped up edit.

The result screen has two more buttons. "Download Video + Audio" saves the TikTok as a video without the TikTok watermark, and "Download Video Only" saves it with the sound removed. You can take the video and the MP3 from the same link.

Need a WAV file?

Some editors and transcription tools ask for WAV. Open the MP3 in a free editor such as Audacity and export it as WAV. The sound stays the same; WAV just stores it uncompressed.

Rights

ICANDL works with public videos only and does not keep the files it processes. Most music on TikTok is licensed for use inside TikTok. Keep the MP3 for personal listening unless you have the rights to reuse it.
