How to Download TikTok Videos on PC or Laptop (Windows and Mac)
tiktok.com doesn't give you a clean download for most videos. Copy the link from the browser bar, paste it into ICANDL and the video saves to your Downloads folder without a watermark.

On a phone, TikTok's share menu has a Save video option that stamps the watermark on the clip. On tiktok.com in a desktop browser, a download option shows up on some videos and not on others. You don't need an app or a browser extension to get a clean file. A link and a browser tab are enough.
Get the video link
Open the TikTok on tiktok.com. If it plays inside your feed, click it so it opens on its own page. Then copy the address from the browser bar. It looks like tiktok.com/@username/video/ followed by a long number.
You can also click Share on the video and choose Copy link. A link sent to you from the phone app works the same way.
Download it
- Open the TikTok video downloader in a new tab.
- Paste the link and click Download.
- Wait a few seconds for the buttons to appear.
- Click "Download Video + Audio".
The video saves to your browser's download folder. On Windows that is usually C:\Users\<your name>\Downloads, and on a Mac it is the Downloads folder in Finder. The file has no TikTok watermark and plays in Windows Media Player, VLC, QuickTime or any editor.
Other formats
"Download Audio Only" saves the TikTok's sound as an MP3, which is handy for a podcast clip or a voiceover you want to transcribe. "Download Video Only" saves the video with the sound removed, which helps when you plan to add your own music in an editor.
When the download button doesn't do anything
Some browsers block downloads started from a new tab. Look for a blocked download icon in the address bar and allow it. If the video opens in a player tab instead of downloading, right click it and choose Save video as.
If ICANDL can't read the link, check that the account is public and the video is still up. A link copied from a profile page, rather than a single video, won't work either.
Quality and rights
ICANDL saves the best quality TikTok has for that video, up to HD or 4K when the creator uploaded at that resolution. It reads public videos only and doesn't store the files it processes. Videos belong to their creators, so get permission before you publish one.
