Plenty of Reels put a song under someone talking: a recipe with a trending track, a tutorial with a beat, a funny story with dramatic music. If you want the words without the song, muting the video doesn't help, because the voice goes too. You need to split the soundtrack. ICANDL's remove music from video tool does that from the link.
How to use it
- Copy the link of a public Reel, TikTok, Facebook video or X video.
- Open remove music from video, paste the link and tap Download.
- Tap "Remove Music, Keep Voice".
- Wait while the status line updates. Keep the page open.
- Tap "Download Video With Voice Only (MP4)" or "Download Voice Only (MP3)".
The MP4 is the original picture with the new voice-only soundtrack. The MP3 is just the voice, handy for transcription, subtitles or a podcast clip.
What happens behind the button
ICANDL runs Demucs, an open-source model trained to separate a recording into parts. The tool asks it for two parts, voice and everything else, and keeps the voice. It runs on ICANDL's own server, so your link isn't sent to another service.
Separation is real work for the server, which is why it takes from about half a minute to a few minutes instead of seconds. Videos longer than 3 minutes aren't accepted.
What to expect from the result
- Clear speech over a song separates well. The music mostly disappears.
- Sung vocals are treated as voice, so a song's lead singer stays in.
- Heavy drums or bass right under the voice can leave faint traces.
- Several people talking over each other stay together; the tool separates voice from music, not one voice from another.
For a fully silent copy, use "Download Video Only" on the Instagram video without audio page instead. The guide on Reels without background music compares both approaches.
Rights
Removing the music doesn't change who owns the footage. ICANDL works with public posts only and deletes processed files after a short time. Ask the creator before you publish their video, even with the music gone.
