A carousel is a single Instagram post with up to several photos and videos you swipe through. Travel albums, product shots, recipes and step-by-step guides often come in this format. Taking a screenshot of every slide is slow and leaves you with cropped, compressed images. ICANDL reads the whole post from one link and lets you save each slide as its original file.
How to save a carousel
- Open the post in Instagram. Tap the share icon and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
- Go to the Instagram carousel downloader.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Scroll through the results. Every slide appears as its own card.
Photo cards have a "Download Original Photo" button. Video cards have three buttons: "Download Video + Audio" for the clip as it plays, "Download Video Only" for a silent copy and "Download Audio Only" for the sound as an MP3.
Tap the buttons for the slides you want. Your browser saves each file separately, so a ten-slide carousel gives you ten files.
Copy the caption too
Carousels often carry long captions, such as recipe steps, product details or a list of locations. When the post has a caption, ICANDL shows it above the results with a copy button. Paste it into your notes next to the images.
What you can't do
ICANDL works one post at a time. It does not download every post from a profile, and it cannot read private accounts. A slide that the creator deleted after posting won't show up.
Finding the files on your phone
On Android, the files go to Downloads and the Gallery app lists them. On iPhone, Safari may ask where to save each file. Pick Files, then open the image or video and use Share to save it to Photos. A note on use
ICANDL does not store the files it processes. Photos and videos in a carousel belong to whoever posted them. Keep them for personal reference unless you have permission to reuse them.
