Facebook has no button for saving the sound of a video. If you want a speech, a song clip or a funny line as an audio file, you need a tool that reads the video and pulls out its soundtrack. ICANDL does that in the browser for any public Facebook video or Reel, and you only download the audio, not the whole video.

Get the link

The link is the only thing ICANDL needs.

In the Facebook app, tap Share under the Reel or video and choose Copy link.
On a regular video post, the Share button works the same way. Some layouts hide it behind the three dot menu.
On a computer, open the video and copy the address from the browser's address bar.

Download the audio

Open the Facebook audio downloader.
Paste the link and tap Download.
When the buttons appear, choose "Download Audio Only (MP3)".

The same result screen also has "Download Audio as WAV" for editing software, "Download Video + Audio" for the full video and "Download Video Only" for a silent copy.

On Android, iPhone and PC

Android: the MP3 saves to the Downloads folder. Open it from the Files app or any music player.
iPhone: Safari asks where to save the file. Pick the Files app; the MP3 plays there and can be shared to other apps. Use Safari rather than the browser inside the Facebook app, which can't save files.
Windows or Mac: the file goes to your browser's download folder. On a computer it's easiest to open the video on facebook.com and copy the address bar.

If the download fails

Most failures come from the link. Check these:

The video must be public. Posts shared only with friends or inside a private group can't be read.
Copy the link of the Reel or video itself, not the link of the page or profile that posted it.
If the post was deleted or the audio was muted by Facebook, there is nothing left to download.
