A bookmark on X keeps the post in a list inside the app. If the author deletes it or locks their account, the bookmark is all you have left, and it won't play. Saving the video file keeps a copy on your phone. On Android, the browser you already have can do it. Downloader APKs from outside the Play Store aren't needed and are a common way to pick up malware.
Copy the link
Open the post in the X app. Tap the share icon under it and choose Copy link. In a browser, tap the post so it opens on its own page and copy the address. Links on x.com and twitter.com both work.
Download with Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to the Twitter video downloader.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- When the buttons appear, tap "Download Video + Audio".
A notification tells you when the download is done. Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge behave the same way.
If the post has several videos, ICANDL shows each one as a separate card. Save the ones you want.
Find the video
Downloads go to the Downloads folder on your phone.
- Samsung Gallery: Albums, then Download.
- Google Photos: Library (or Collections), then Download under Photos on device.
- Files by Google: Browse, then Downloads.
Once it's in the gallery, the video behaves like one you recorded. You can trim it, send it on WhatsApp or move it to another album.
Other formats

Quality

Limits
Posts from protected accounts can't be read. Deleted posts take their media with them. ICANDL doesn't store the files it processes, and downloaded videos are for personal use unless the owner agrees otherwise.
