How to Save Instagram Reels to Your Gallery Without a Watermark
Instagram's Download option puts a logo and the creator's username on the Reel. ICANDL saves the original video with its sound, and this guide shows how to get it into your gallery on Android and iPhone.
Updated
Instagram lets you download public Reels from the share menu, but the saved copy carries the Instagram logo and the creator's username across the video. Creators can also switch the option off. If you want a clean copy in your gallery, with the sound intact, download the Reel from its link instead.
Step 1: Download the Reel
- On the Reel, tap the share icon and choose Copy link.
- Open the Instagram Reels downloader in your phone's browser.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Tap "Download Video + Audio".
That button saves the Reel as Instagram plays it, picture and sound together, in the best quality available for that Reel. The other two buttons are there for other jobs: "Download Video Only" removes the sound, and "Download Audio Only" saves the soundtrack as an MP3.
Step 2 on Android
Chrome and most Android browsers save the file to the Downloads folder. The Gallery app, Google Photos and Samsung Gallery show videos from Downloads, sometimes in a separate album called Downloads. If you can't see the Reel, open the Files app and look in Downloads.
Step 2 on iPhone
Safari saves the video as a file, so it won't appear in Photos on its own.
- Tap the download icon in Safari's address bar, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.
- Open the video.
- Tap Share, then Save Video.
The Reel now sits in Photos with your other videos. If Safari asks where to download the file, choosing On My iPhone keeps it on the device instead of iCloud Drive.
If the saved Reel has no sound
Check that you tapped "Download Video + Audio" and not "Download Video Only". If the Reel is silent inside Instagram too, the sound was removed there and no download can bring it back. The guide downloaded Instagram video has no sound goes through the other causes.
Before you repost
ICANDL reads public posts only and does not store the files it processes. Removing the watermark doesn't change who owns the Reel. If you share it, credit the creator, and ask first if you plan to use it in your own content.
