People save the audio of X posts for podcasts, reaction videos, voice clips and transcription. X has no download button for any of that. ICANDL reads the post from its link and gives you the soundtrack as an MP3, or as a WAV if your editor asks for one.
Download the audio from Twitter (X)
- On the post, tap the Share icon and choose Copy link. The link looks like
x.com/username/status/.... Oldertwitter.comlinks work too. - Open the Twitter audio downloader.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Choose "Download Audio Only (MP3)".
If a post has several videos, each one shows up as its own card with its own buttons.
MP3 or WAV
"Download Audio Only (MP3)" is the right choice for listening or sharing. The file is small and plays everywhere.
"Download Audio as WAV" saves the same sound uncompressed. Audacity, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and many transcription tools accept WAV without decoding first. Before this button existed you had to open the MP3 in an audio editor and export it again. Now the WAV comes straight from the link.
A WAV doesn't sound better than the MP3. X stores compressed audio, and an uncompressed copy of it holds the same sound in a bigger file, about 10 MB per minute. The guide on MP3 or WAV downloads explains when each makes sense.
What isn't supported
- Spaces. Live audio rooms and their recordings aren't attached to a post as a video, so ICANDL can't read them.
- Protected accounts. Only public posts can be read.
- Deleted posts or posts withheld in your country.
When the link doesn't load
Copy the link of the post itself, not the profile. If the post is public and still fails, wait a minute and try again; X sometimes limits requests for a short time. The guide Twitter (X) video downloader not working covers the usual causes.
Rights
ICANDL doesn't store the files it processes. You are responsible for how you use the audio, so check the rights before you publish someone else's clip.
